The “Histoires oubliées” series, produced in 2005, sought to bring to life events and figures that are, for the most part, not found in history books. These events and individuals nevertheless left a lasting impression at a certain time in history and deserve to be brought back to people’s attention today.

Guylaine Dionne is a Canadian director, screenwriter, and producer whose work is distinguished by a sensitive exploration of the female perspective, the search for identity, and the relationship between memory and the dreamlike. Active for over twenty years in both fiction and documentary filmmaking, she has created several notable works, including *Les Fantômes des trois Madeleine*, which was presented at the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and has won numerous international awards.

She also directed *Mary Shelley*, winner of the Lanterna Magica Award, as well as *Serveuses demandées*, a social drama that has been screened internationally. Her 164-minute documentary *Les Réalisatrices contemporaines : l’état des choses*, co-directed with Rosanna Maule, was screened at the Cinémathèque québécoise and selected for SWIFF.

A full-time professor at Concordia University, Guylaine Dionne continues to create socially engaged and humanistic work. She is currently developing *La Solitude forestière*, a documentary dedicated to the workers who built the Manicaguan dams in the 1950s and 1960s.
