JPR/RHD 2025 - Tribute to Tricot-Graffiti

As part of Religious Heritage Days 2025, the CCA opened its doors to the public on September 6.

For the occasion, we wanted to pay tribute to an event that marked the recent history of the village: the Tricot-Graffiti citizen initiative in 2013, a collective project that mobilized several knitters from Abercorn and the surrounding area. The collective created a magnificent textile installation, “dressing” the Little Red Schoolhouse in Abercorn, as well as its trees and gardens. This ephemeral work was admired by thousands of visitors.

For this day of commemoration, the walls of All Saints Church were decorated with some of the perfectly preserved Tricot-Graffiti artifacts. Visitors were also able to attend a lecture by the project's initiator, Lise Goad, meet some of the knitters involved, and view photo and video testimonials.
